How to join and buy

Free to play. A few easy steps to make books and songs.

Most of Vernaculator is free: talking memes, Say it fancy, word games, the cartoon. Making your own books and songs costs a little, because the AI and the character voices cost us real money. Here's the whole process.

  1. ⭐ Become a member: $1 a year

    Membership is for grown-ups (18+). It comes with 100 tokens (your dollar back), lets you start books and songs for your kids, post to The Slam, and get your own @nickname page. It doesn't renew by itself.

    You get a restore code (it starts with SS-). That code is your account: no passwords. Keep it somewhere safe to use your tokens on another phone or computer.

  2. 🪪 Show you're a grown-up (one time)

    The first time you start a book or a song, we ask for a quick ID check: a photo of your ID and a selfie, on our verification partner's secure page. It takes about two minutes, and it's what keeps kids from pretending to be parents.

    We never see or keep your ID. We only keep the answer: verified 18+, or not.

  3. 🪙 Buy tokens

    Tokens pay for books, songs, premium voices and the Better and Best AI. 100 tokens is about $1, they never expire, and bigger packs come with bonus tokens.

  4. 📖 Make something with your kids

    Start the book or song on your account, then share the link with your kid so they can write it with you.

    • Create Your Own Book: 1,000 tokens ($10) for 25 talking pages, then published on Amazon with your kid as the author. Start a book
    • A book for anyone: 1,000 tokens ($10) for 25 pages. See how
    • Write a novel: 1,000 tokens ($10) for a whole book, up to 250 pages. Start a novel

Teens 14 to 17

Teens can't buy. A parent who is a member links the teen's phone in Family accounts and sets a daily token allowance from the parent's balance.
