Episode 1: Who Took the Cannoli?

Somebody walked off with a dozen of Big Sal's fresh cannoli, and nobody leaves the neighborhood until he finds out who. He lines everybody up: a Gen Alpha kid who swears he was at the skatepark, a strict mom with a perfect alibi, a pirate with crumbs in his beard, a philosopher who wants to talk about the meaning of pastry, a sportscaster calling the whole thing live, and a hard-boiled detective who notices what everyone else missed. It's a three-minute whodunit with a twist you'll see coming only if you're paying attention, and that's the lesson.

Big Sal's World is a family cartoon about the skills you need on the tough streets of real life: spotting a hustle, standing up for yourself, telling a good excuse from a fishy one, and laughing at yourself when the clues point your way. The characters come from Vernaculator, and the stories come from its fans. Every week the funniest clean clips in The Slam become the next episode.

The bigger picture: the first neighborhood

Big Sal's World is neighborhood number one. Down the road there'll be more neighborhoods, maybe endless ones, each with its own theme and its own crowd of characters, up to 160 per neighborhood. And the characters won't come from a studio: they're made by Vernaculator's community of grown-up members, who design their own character, voice and look included. The most popular ones move in; the least popular get voted off the block to make room. Get popular enough and your character might just get a neighborhood of their own.

And it doesn't stop at the city limits. Every neighborhood gets its own sports team. The most popular characters face off on game shows. One day, one big stage will bring every fan-made character and every world together to compete, neighborhood against neighborhood.

One rule never changes: every neighborhood is a mix. Each one has the same kinds of characters (a detective, a know-it-all, a hustler with a heart of gold, a kid who's always online) and people from every background, side by side. No neighborhood is just one kind of people. The world is one stage, and everybody's invited.
